Sydney sank German Emden
In the year of 1914, the Australian Navy was only 13 years old, after being formed in 1901. One of Australia's cruisers, Sydney, was very well known and still is today. This is because of what this ship did for Australia, it took down an approaching German light cruiser, SMS Emden. This was one of the first wins for Australia in the World War, and so it is still remembered today. -
