How it all begins
Nury Eugenia Gómez Betancourt was born on October 8, 1970 (Bogotá, Colombia). -
A change
She grew up in Bogotá until the age of 4. Her biological mother abandoned her and gave her to another family to care of her. She began her new life in Tuluá, living with her adoptive mother and siblings. -

Childhood
Her childhood was difficult, the family she grew up with abused and humiliated her, she did almost all the housework and wasn't allowed to have friends or go out. It frustrated her, she wanted to be able to do all the things a normal child did, but because she wasn't considered part of the family, she was treated poorly.
Nury never finished her studies because her adoptive mother felt that it would be of no use to her in life, so she had no choice but to work from a young age. -
Freedom at last
In 1989 she married a man called Jose Vianey Trochez, not out of love but out of convenience. She wanted to get out of her mother's house and she thought the only way to do that was to get married, so she did, even though she was only 17. -
Pregnancy
In 1990 she got pregnant, it was a girl, they named her "Nury Carolina", she worked while trying to take care of her new baby. -

Rough times
Nury was now a single mother of two, and times were hard for her because it wasn't easy to keep a job. With the little money she earned, she survived with her two little girls, and then she met a man called José Luis Suárez Franco, with whom she fell in love. -
Second child!
A few years later she had another girl, whom she called "Linda Paola". She then divorced her husband due to various problems. -
First boy
Two years into the relationship, she got pregnant. She gave birth to a boy and named him Jorge Luis Suárez Gómez, the first boy in the family. -
Married life
After marrying José Luis Suárez and having their first child, she had a difficult time finding a job, having quit hers after being framed for robbing the owner, she was so offended that she decided to leave. -
Period: to
An alternative
They were happily married but struggling with money, so instead of looking for a new job, they started thinking about alternatives. -
Period: to
Brighter days
After many years of hard work, her business, now called "El Sinaito", had become very popular. She was happy that all the hard work she had put into the idea had finally paid off. -
Last one?
Just as they were coming up with an idea to make more money, she became pregnant with another girl, whom they named Natalia Suárez Gómez. They started an empanada business, which was difficult at first because they didn't have many customers, but they pushed on until they got more recognition. -
The end...or is it?
She is now very successful, has a better life, and lives happily with her husband José Luis, her son Jorge Luis and daughter Natalia. Her other two daughters work abroad. She continues to work because she doesn't want to settle for the bare minimum; if she can do more, she will do it. Well, this is not the end of the story, there is more to come, but only time knows what the future holds.
