    The first American magazine is published called "American Magazine". Benjamin Franklin was the first person to have the magazine idea, but Andrew Bradford beat him to it. However, Franklin's magazine entitled, "The General Magazine, and Historical Chronicle for all the British Plantations in America" continued publication for six months and Bradford's for only three months.
