  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War was between France and England. The war is also known as the Seven years war. The reason the war was caused was because the English was starting to take over more land because the population was growing so fast. The people were not okay with it so that was starting the starting point leading into war. In 1775 the British General Edward Braddock was sent to drive French out of the Ohio Valley. The general was soon defeated the was had officially been declared.
  • Treaty of 1763

    Treaty of 1763
    The Treaty of 1763 was put in place February 2, 1763.. This was a "law" that was put in place that ended the French and Indian war which was also known as the Seven Years war. In this act the French People gave up their main land territories that then allowed the war to end.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    This was an act that forbade people to settle past the Appalachian mountains. This was one of the causes that then led to the French and Indian war. When the act was put in place the indian people liked it. But that was very few of the people and in reality this was not good and did not last. Some results on this was that having this line drawn limited the settlers to expand colonies. Many people tried to settle on the line which was maned by British Police which then caused even more conflict.

    The stamp act of 1765 was an act of parliament of the British people that directly taxed the colonies. These taxes were very high rates. The items that had to be taxed was anything with official documents or anything printed. The colonial people were not very happy with this new act so they began to boycott and also began to riot to try and get the Stamp act taken out.

    The Boston Massacre took place March 5, 1770. This was a time when the British Soldiers shot and killed many of the people in the streets of Boston. The cause was because of the new taxes put in place such as the Stamp Act and Townsend Acts. The people of the colonies were not happy what so ever so began to Rebel. In the city on this day they started to say the very famous line "no taxation without representation" This then turned out to cause a fight between the colonist and soliders.

    The Boston Tea party took place on December 16, 1773 in Boston, Massachusetts. This was a riot led by the group the Sons of Liberty. This is a protest where many people dumped tons of tea of the side of the boat and into the water to show the people that the taxes were to high and that they did not want their tea anymore. This was not just a little bit of tea that they threw off they threw away years worth of tea for many families. This is a protest due to high taxes people will always remember.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The Intolerable Acts were passed June 2, 1774. The Intolerable Acts are exactly how they sound terrible and not okay. The Intolerable Acts were put in place to punish the colonist for the Boston Tea Party rebellion. The five acts was the Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice Act, Quartering, and the Quebec Act. These acts caused the colonist to rally because they felt as though their basic freedoms were being taken from them.

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    The Battles of Lexington and Concord took place on April 19, 1775. This was the battle that kicked off the Revolutionary War. This is when the Famous Paul Revere went around town saying " The British are coming." This time which was the start of the American Revolutionary War had been for seen due to the events that had been taken place. All of the acts and rebellions mentioned earlier caused the British to have enough and start the war to attempt to have all control over the colonies again.
  • Battle at Bunker Hill

    Battle at Bunker Hill
    The Battle at Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775 and the battle was located in CharlesTown Boston Massachusets. The British won this battle. This Battle was caused on accident because the soldiers were supposed to take over one hill but accidently took over the Bunker hill. This was okay for the Patriots because it allowed them to push back the British solidiers.
  • Publication of "Common Sense"

    Publication of "Common Sense"
    Common Sense was written in 1776 by Thomas Paine. Thomas' goal of writing this was to convince the Americans that war is their only option to get indepence from their mother country. This novel was released January 1776 and over 150,000 copies were sold. In his novel he swayed many peoples’ opinions on if they should go into war or not. He was pretty much saying that the only way they will be able to take independence is if they go into war now or else…
  • Declaration Of Independence

    Declaration Of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was adopted July 4, 1776. The moral of the documents was to serve and summarize what they wanted and their motivations. Their motivations are to become free from and separate from the British. The meeting took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Declaration Of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert R. Livingston. This was a very successful document that is still in place today.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The Battle took place December 26, 1776 and was taken place in Trenton New Jersey. This battle was very small battle but was very important to the end goals of the war. This battle was in the very cold winter morning. In this battle the American people took the victory. George Washington Moved his men to Trenton for the purpose of having the people in a small area to take the victory which they did.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    The battle of Saratoga took place September 19, 1777 - October 17, 1777. This Battle the Americans take the victory over the British People. This battle is the climax point of the war and had a large impact. The Battle of Saratoga is also known as the " Turning point" of the American Revolution. This Battle was the point when the Patriots had a moral boost to help them get through the war.

    Valley Forge was in the cold, brutal winter months and was there were many camps spread out all around that soldiers were staying at. Valley Forge served as a place that the American People became an " Army " Valley Forge served as a training place for the soldiers. The learned how to fight in this time. During this time period there were many sicknesses and deaths due to the climate but the people who survived learned and grew lots.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The Battle of Yorktown took place from September 28, 1781 through October 19, 1781. Many people also call this the Surrender at Yorktown. At this battle the General Cornwallis surrenders for the British on October 17th to finally end the War.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    The Battle of Cowpens was taken place on January 17 1781 in cowpens South Carolina. This battle booosted the Patriots morale and helped Cornwillis to surrender.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris took place on September 3, 1783 in Paris France. This was the Treaty that offically ended the American Revolutionary War.
