Battle of Lexington and Concord
They are the first battles that started the Revolution. The first battle was fought to protect John Hancock and Samuel Adams from British hands. The colonist got ready beforehand because William Dawes, a courier, told them of the British patrol. The Battle of Concord was to protect the weapons for the colonist. Battle of Ticonderoga
The fight for this fort was because it was an important access point to Canada and the Hudson River Valley. It was captured by the colonist militia Green Mountain Boys of Vermont lead by Benedict Arnold. Another important factor of the fort capture was the much needed artillery for the colonist.

Battle of Bunker Hill
In the same year of the starting of the war in 1775, Colonel William Prescott and his men fought against the British at Bunker hill in Massachusetts. After a long battle and three British charges the colonist finally lost the battle for Bunker Hill. Casualties on the colonist side was 400 total. Battle of Trenton
The battle of Trenton was led by the one and only George Washington. To attack the garrisons though, he had to cross the Delaware on Christmas day. This battle was finally a success making all colonist soldiers morale rise up.

Battle of Saratoga
Taken place in the state of Virginia, Saratoga was a two part battle which was a lost on the colonist side at first but a mighty victory in the end. From this victory drew the French attention on to helping the colonist. The battle for the colonist was lead by Heratio Gates and Benidict Arnold. This was considered the turning point of the war because it was a massive win for the Americans and another morale boost.

Battle of Yorktown
This battle was the last battle on American soil during the revolution which had British General Charles Cornwallis surrender to George Washington. A massive aid to the colonist for this last battle was the French which helped push the British back to the Atlantic ocean which led to Cornwallis' surrender for the British which led to the peace negotiations and eventually the Treaty of Paris.
