When she immigrated to Israel, she did a free studying for 6 months, learning the language. She had a computer and started to teach typing word in English, She also knew a little bit about desktop publishing so she taught that as well. She also worked at an export company for about a year. -
Move to Melbourne
Merryl and her husband were in Greece for two months and they came to Melbourne. They stopped in Singapore and bought equipment because they would set up their own business in HR and management consulting. -

Interest in mosaic began
Bought a house in 1997 in Brighton, and developed very intense desire to be creative. Needed to do something creative but didn’t have any artistic experience at all. -
Enrolled in colour course in RMIT and qualified in Interior Design
Did three colour courses altogether and transferred to Interior Design. Qualified in Interior Design. Part-time over four years. -
Got divorced and decided to do what she really wanted to do
Decided to give herself a year to work in the area that she really loved -
Run a three-month trial in the field of mosaic
Discovered that many people were interested in how to make mosaic. But it’s very hard to sell mosaic because they are very labour-intensive. -
Mosaic course began
Met a friend from Israel in Prague, who was a dance therapist, She suggested Merryl running a workshop and see what happens. Merryl got 18 people signed up for her course. -

Merryl changed place three times over time. -
Merryl's Mosaic moved to 900 Glen Huntly Road, Caulfield South
This new place can fit in 30 students. She is not going to move to any other places bigger than this one.
