    Steven Thomas arrives to New Oreleans to participate as a working journalist due to winning the USBWA writing contest.

    When Stevie arrives he meets the other writing contestant winner, her name is Susan Carol Anderson,

  • Blackmail

    When Stevie and Susan Carol are walking to their next reporting area they over hear that the Minnesota State star basketball player is being blackmailed into throwing the championship game.

  • Chip Graber

    Susan Carol and Stevie must find a way to get in touch with Chip Graber the Minnesota State basketball start to help him get out of trouble and win his championship game.

  • Meeting Chip

    The two kids work their way into Chip's hotel and get into his hotel room after coming up with a story that they are cousins of Chip. And they needed to see him before his game that night. Then they have to explain to Chip everything they know and have to come up with a plan to find out more information.

  • Making calls

    Chip is being threatned that he is ineligable even though he knows he isn't. So he gives Susan Carol a number to call, she is the wife of the reitred Dean who used to work at Minnesota.

  • Getting the facts

    Stevie and Susan Carol get in touch with the ex deans wife from Minnesota. She gives them and Chip information on where to go and who to contact.

  • Meeting up

    After the three contact who the Dean's wife tells them to they schedule an appoinment to go meet with a man they don't know. Chip informs him that he is bringing the kids no mattter what so they all travel about an hour away to go see him before Chip has to be back for interviews, practice, and final game.

  • trapped

    Stevie, Chip, and Susan Carol go to a hotel and visit some men that they think will be there last hope. However when they get there they all turn out to be the bad guys and Chip is forced to go play his game while the men tape Stevie and Susan Carol to a chair during the championship basketball game.

  • getting out

    The ex Dean of Minnesota comes to the kid's rescue when he turns out to be on Chip's side and tackles the man keeping them captive. They head to the game and down to the bottom rows of the court where they get eye contact with Chip to let him know they are okay.

  • the end

    Chip ends up winning the championship game with a buzzer beater shot. The press comes swooping in with the Coach, who happens to be his dad. They demand to know what happend and what is going on. The next day the story was released and Susan Carol and Stevie had to pack to head home.
