Childhood
Legend's parents were divorced when he was young, and Legend was homeschooled by his mother. He began playing the piano at age 4. At the age of 7, he performed with his church choir. I believe Legend's time with his mother began his love and want for equality for women. -
Feminism/Sexism/Social Justice
Legend stated at a press conference for The Sound of Change Liv that “All men should be feminists. If men care about women’s rights the world will be a better place.” He also said that if women were more empowered, we would have a better society.
I believe this event and his fame is the perfect time nd place to display his advocacy for gender equality. -
Axe's, find your magic initiative
Legend worked with AXE to advocate for gender equality and help break the cycle of toxic masculinity by mentoring high school students at Centennial High School in Columbus, Ohio, near the singer’s own hometown. John is taking the life lessons and his beliefs and passing it on to youth. The youth seeing his passion for gender equality is a big deal. -
