John Dupre attended the University of Oxford, in which he later transferred to the University of Cambridge where he graduated with his Ph.D in 1981 as a Harkness Fellow. -

In 1983 Dupre took over the Department of Philosophy at Stanford University, in which he taught until 1996. -

Following his tenure at Stanford University in the United After 13 years at the Department of Philosophy at Stanford University, Dupre returned to the United Kingdom in which he ventured to work as a professor at Birkbeck College and University of London. -
Selection as Director of Egenis
In 2002, he was selected to become the director of eugenics; professor of philosophy and science; the centre for the study of human life sciences. Dupre served as director for 20 years. -

Gender Studies
In 2013, Dupre taught at Cambridge University as Diane Middlebrook and Carl Djerassi's visiting professor. During this time he began to mold and shape the ideology surrounding gender. -
A Process Ontology for Contemporary Biology
An ERC-funded project that spanned from 2013 until 2018. This projects goal was to describe ontology from a biological and biomedical science rather than the traditional perspective. Dupre's work during this project later evolved into his lectures provided at Gifford in Edinburgh nearly 5 years later. -

A Process Perspective on Human Life by Professor John Dupre (University of Exeter) delivered at The University of Edinburg.
