Treaty of Versailles signed
The signing of the Treaty of Versailles ended WWI. This treaty was written by the Allied Powers with no help from Germany. Part 1 of the treaty created the League of Nations. The other parts set Germany's new boundaries, took Germany's colonies, reduced their armed forces, and made them pay for reparations of the war. -
Washington Naval Conference
This event was a gathering of the world's largest naval powers held in Washington D.C. They were to discuss naval reductions and situations in the Far East. Three treaties were made; the Five-Power Treaty, Four-Power treaty, and Nine-Power treaty. From theses treaties, the US kept its policy in the Pacific, including the Open Door policy and protection of the Phillipines. -

Benito Mussolini was an Italian dictator who gained power during WWI. He was a socialist, but then forged the Facsist Movement and used it to march on Rome. He then became the Prime minister of Italy. -

Germany was very unhappy with the Treaty of Versailles, Hitler and his followers tried to set up the Beer Hall Putsch in Munich to take over the government of Bavaria. This plan was a failure. -

Vladimir Lenin was the leader of Russia. He turned all of Russia communist and formed the Soviet Union. He died at age 53 on January 21, 1924 due to a stroke. -

The Dawes plan was an attempt to solve the WWI reparations. The main goal of this plan was to get Germany's Weimar Republic back on its feet. There were five nations on the committee, US, France, UK, Italy, and Belgium. -

The first FIve Year Plan was created for the Soviet Union by Joseph Stalin, and was a list of economic goals. The plan was created because the soviets had a fear of invasion, so they felt the need to speed up industrialization. This plan helped the Soviet Union become a world power, but also created a huge famine. -
Wall Street crash
During the 1920's, stocks quadrupled in value. Everybody wanted stocks so they started buying lots of them on credit. Stocks went down 80% and people could not sell their stocks. Many people became poor because of this and all the banks shut down. America was in the Great Depression. -

Dachua is located in Southern Germany. It was the first Nazi concentration camp in Germany. It purpose was to force labor and to kill Jews. The camp was liberated by the american in 1945. Over 32,000 people died just at this camp. -
