Cotton gin
Cotton gin was invented in 1794 by Eli Whitney. He was born December 8,1765. He was born in Westborough, Massachusetts. Cotton gin is a machine that separates the cotton fibers from the seed that grows it. This is helpful because it makes work a lot more helpful. -
Continuous Sewing Machine
Elias Howe invented the continuous sewing machine in 1819. Elias Howe was born July 9, 1867. He had the same name as his dad. Continuous sewing machines make sewing a lot more quicker. Instead of kicking a pedal for hours its mechanical. -
Mechanical Reaper
Cyrus McCormick invented the machanical reaper in 1834. He was born Feb. 15, 1809. His middle name was hall. Mechanical reapers are,of course, mechanical. You don't have to have horses for everything. -
Morse Code
Samuel Morse invented Morse Code in 1836. He was born April 27, 1791. He had two middle names. Morse Code is a type of language that the U.S. Navy uses to communicate with other ships. It was VERY helpful when we didn't have electricty because you could use Morse Code to communicate. -

Christopher Sholes invented the typewriter in 1868. He was born Feb. 14, 1819. His middle name was Latham. The typewriter was a useful mechanical devise used to type letters. This was helpful because you didn't always have to hand-write letters and other things. -
Telephone
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1875. He was born March 3,1847 and died August 2, 1922. The telephone was used to communicate. This was helpful because you didn't have to be in person to speak to someone. -
Air Conditioner
Willis Carrier invented the air conditioner in 1902. He was born Nov. 26, 1876. His middle name was Haviland. The air conditioner is a machine to help people cool off when they get hot. It is useful because you can get cooled off really quick. -
Windsheild Wipers
Mary Anderson invented the windsheild wipers n 1905. He was born Feb. 19, 1866. She died in Tenessee. The windsheild wipers help people when it is raining. It is used on cars. -
Zipper
Gideon Sundback invented the zipper in 1880. He was born April 24, 1880. He was a Swedish-American electrical engineer. The zipper was a replacement for buttons. It makes it easier and is way quicker to get dressed. -
Microwave oven
Percy Spencer invented the microwave oven in 1945. He was born July 9, 1895. His middle name was LeBaron. The microwave oven helps you cook things. It helps us because you dont have to cook things over a fire all the time. -
Computer Mouse
Douglas Engelbart invented the computer mouse in 1964. He was born Jan. 30, 1925. His middle name was Carl. The computer mouse is a handheld object used on computers. With out it you wouldn't be able to move your cursor around the screen.
