John Dalton's Atom
He said that common substances break down into their common matter. Common substances always broke down into the same elements in the same proportions. He concluded that the various compounds were combinations of atoms of different elements. Each of a particular size or mass that neither can be created or destroyed. -
Dmitri Mendeleev's theory
Found and created the first periodic table of elements. He also found the elemental law. -
JJ Thompson's Atom
He found the electron. He shot small particles towards a gold sheet. Some particles went through, some bounced back. The particles that hit the nucleus bounced back. Filled with negatively charged electron. Uniformly backed spheres of positive matter. -
Neil Bohr's Atom
Electrons are found in only specific orbits around the nucleus. The Nucleus is made up of Protons and Neutrons and the Electrons orbit the Nucleus. The Electron with the higher energy amount is further away and spins faster. -
James Chadwick's theory
He found the neutron. He said that the neutron has the same mass as a proton. He found out that the proton and neutron make up the nucleus. -
Ernest Rutherford's Atom
Electrons orbit the nucleus. Predicted that the paths of some particles would bend or deflect , slightly.
