How Democrats Won Back the House in 1954
In 1954, Democrats won back the House of Representatives, and despite my irritation at the mistakes I found in the 1952 results by Congressional district, there are still ways to look at the 1952 and 1954 elections. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2013/3/21/1194999/-How-Democrats-Won-Back-the-House-in-1954-and-how-they-lost-it-in-1952-Various-Perspectives -
Selma to Montgomery March
The Selma to Montgomery march was part of a series of civil-rights protests that occurred in 1965 in Alabama, a Southern state with deeply entrenched racist policies. In March of that year, in an effort to register black voters in the South, protesters marching the 54-mile route from Selma to the state capital of Montgomery were confronted with deadly violence from local authorities and white vigilante groups. https://www.history.com/topics/black-history/selma-montgomery-march -

‘I Love My Skin!’ Why Black Parents Are Turning to Afrocentric Schools
Though New York City has tried to desegregate its schools in fits and starts since the 1954 Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education, the school system is now one of the most segregated in the nation. This relates to the Brown v. board due to the fact that in 1954 is was deem unconstitutional to segregate schools yet in 2019 schools are still deeply segregated. Especially in the south. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/08/nyregion/afrocentric-schools-segregation-brooklyn.html
