    The Child Study Movement
    This was ground breaking. The education system before this movement was subject based and after this movement education turned into student based. This helped educators learn how to educate learners in the best and most effective way. G. Stanley Hall was the mind behind this movement.
  • The Cardinal Principles Report

    The Cardinal Principles Report
    From 1890 to 1930 high school enrollment doubled. This report gave access to high school students to take many different classes during high school. This gave a more diverse high school experience. The Cardinal Principles Report was given the title of the most influential education document of the twentieth century.
  • Ruby Bridges Breaking Segregation

    Ruby Bridges Breaking Segregation
    Ruby Bridges is an African American woman who was the first African American child to attend the William Frantz Elementary School. She needed a U.S. Marshal escort as a six year old into the school. She was one of the stepping stones for desegregating schools. Many riots broke out and for the first year she was the only student.
  • Congress Passes PL 94-142

    Congress Passes PL 94-142
    In 1975 Congress passed the public law 94-142 allowing free education for all handicapped students. Included was an IEP, special services, due process and to be able to learn in a least restrictive environment. This law is eligible for children with disabilities aged 3 to 21.

    Online learning is one of the fastest growing trends in education. The student is allowed to make the education process more personal with online education. It is predicted that in 2019 half of high school classes will be online.This is ground breaking because it is developing school in a whole new way.
