November Armistice
The armistice ended the Great War, and lead to many issues in the German government. -
Spatakist Uprising
Led by Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg, the goal of this was to overthrow Ebert's form of government in favor of a communist one. This was acheived through the formation of a Revolutionary Committee, the seizure of newspaper offices in Berlin, the organization of a general strike, as well as armed street fighting against opposers. As a result, the government used the army to crush the rebellion, which resulted in the death of its leader. Because of deaths, the Spartacist Uprising was stopped. -

French Occupation of the Ruhr
The French began occupying the Ruhr due to Germany's lack of payments. This resulted in the French taking what they needed from the missing reparations. This resulted in a massie economic crisis for Germany. -
Gustav Stresemann Rises to Power
Gustav Stresemann came to power, and he tried to pull Germany out of the economic state it was in. HIs plan was to end passive resistance in the Ruhr, to replace the gold marks with a new, more stable currency called the Rentenmark, and to resume the reparations to the Allies. -

The Dawes Plan was a step taken by Americans who noticed Germany's economical crisis, which included the loan of 800 million gold marks to Germany, and the introduction of a new, more permanent currency called the Reichmark.This resulted in the fall of inflation, the expansion of industry, and the increase of exports. -

The Wall Street Crash affected Germany the most severely out of all nations. This was because of the Dawes Plan, signed 5 years before, which loaned Germany a large sum of money to restart its economy. Because of the crash, the United States had to recall all of its loans, on which Germany was completely dependent on to keep it economically stable. This made unemployment rates skyrocket, going up to one-third of the work force. -
Collapse of the Third Reich
The Third Reich fell after the suicide of its leader and creator, Adolf Hitler. The Third Reich also fell after the millitary defeat of Germany.
