The Paleo Cultuer exsited 12,000 years ago. They ate mammmoths, sloths, sabertooth tigers, and other meat animals. They followed them around while they were in packs. They were hunting them they stabbed them with spears to kill the Mammoths. -

The archiac indians were the first to use pottery. They hunted the same animals as the paleo indians. They used the same weapons at first but then the climate changed and the big animals died and became extinct. they then had to use thin spears to hunt the smaller animals that came to them. this time period lasted from 8000 B.C and 1000 B.C. -

He was looking for gold in Georgia. The reason is cause he heard that the native americans had gold. It is true that they did have gold. It was not from a gold mine it was from wreked spanish ships. He was cruel and killed thousands of native americans. He used weapons and dieases . He died a failure and did not find any gold. -

He (James Oglethorpe) wante da new colony to help the poor. he did not like the prisons because of the conditions. it would also help against enimes. Highland Scots arrive in georiga
The Highland scots were recruted by James Oglethorpe to help protect the new colony from the Spanish. They were from scotland and were considered great warriors. The scots were big and strong and not afraid of anything. They settled in a land they would call Darrien. -

He lead troops to the battle of Kettle Creek. Defeated a group of 800 brithish soldiers. He got needed weapons, horses, and supplies. -

This is when the govenor and state legislature sold land at very low prices. They had to bribe them into buying it. They had to give back all the land that they sold and then had to pay back all the money that they took. -

This was made by Eli Whitney. It was a machine that made it easier to seperate the cotton seed from the actual cotton. Before the invention of the gin it took hundreds of hours to seperate the fibers. The increase of production had a heavy need of slavery. -

This event speed up the Indian removal act. This was when there was gold found on indian land and the government wanted to get them off the land faster so they could mine it. Over 10,000 miners flocked to georiga. -
