    Facebook introduced their mobile app, allowing everyone to be able to access the site on their smartphones. This increased users with the added availability and ease of signing on.

    Facebook introduced the Like button, allowing users to easily interact with their followers posts. This increase in the simple interaction with friends and family grew the site even more, and by July 2010 Facebook had 500 million active users.

Their initial offering was only $38 a share, and they raised $16 billion on the first day, which was a record during that time. But share prices dropped more than 40% over the next several months, total losses $50 billion by August.
