The treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that Germany had to sign that said that they could never have an army ever again, give some territory, take the blame for the war happening, and pay for the damage that happened in the war. -
Great depression
The Great depression was when Germany's economy was horrible. It was so bad that hey gave money to the kids to play with. -
Hitler takes control over Germany
Hitler was known to be a good public speaker, so he was able to talk Germany into believing him. He wanted to blame the Jews for what had happened to Germany and was able to successfully do that. Afterwards Hitler was voted the Chancellor of Germany. -
Invasion of the Rhineland
Rhineland is a piece of land that borders France and Germany. It was the first land that the Nazi had invaded. France didn't like the fact that there was the German army near their country, but they didn't do anything about it yet. -
Britain and France appease Hitler
When the Germans were trying to take Rhineland, it reminded France and Britain WWI so they chose to give the territory to Hitler thinking it would satisfy him. -
Hitler annexes Austria
After he took over Rhineland, he invaded his home country Austria. -
Invasion of Czechoslovakia
France and Britain thought that Hitler would stop invading countries in Europe, but he didn't. In fact he kept invading most of the countries in Europe and one of them was Czechoslovakia. -
Invasion of Poland/start of WWII
When Hitler invaded Poland, France and Britain had to call war on Germany because he had already taken control of most of Europe, which was how the WWII started. -
Voyage of St.Louis
The Voyage of St.Louis was a voyage that took people who were escaping the Nazi in Hamburg, Germany to Havana, Cuba. Along the way many people died and when they reached Cuba most of the people on board were rejected because their visa had expired.
