Japan Invades!
Japan wants to expand its territory beacuse they felt like they got nothing out of the Treaty of Versailles.This event began the fighting in world war two because the Japanese army violated the treaty and did not listen to the League of Nations when they were told to get out of China. -
Italy Invades!
Italy wanted to expand their empire and build up their nation's pride. They invaded Ethiopia under their dictator Benito Mussolini because they also wanted revenge on the Ethiopians for a previous defeat. It seemed as though Mussolini was following in Hitler's footsteps by being a dictator and expanding his country's land. -
League of Nations FAILURE!!!
The League of Nations failed to do its job. When Ethiopia found out that Italy was planning to attack, they asked the League of Nations to help them. The league was powerless, so they talked to Benito Mussolini and asked him no to invade Ethiopia. While they were talking with him, he sent an army to conquer Ethiopia. Then, they proposed to give part of Ethiopia to Italy. -
Germany Invades!
Germany invaded Austria because Hitler wanted to expand his empire and be in control of one of the most powerful European countries. In Austria, Hitler banned Jews from doing things that other people could do and this lasted throughout world war two. -
Failed Appeasement
Britain and France gave Germany some of Czechoslovakia in hopes that it would be enough land to satisfy him, prevent further bloodshed, and keep peace in their countries. They were drastically wrong and Hitler went on to take more of Czechoslovakia. -
Germany Invades!
Germany invades Poland under Adolf Hitler. He had a few reasons. First, he claimed that the Polish were abusing the Germans living there. Also, he wanted to enlarge Germany's empire and defy the Treaty of Versailles. Poland remained under German control until January of 1945.
