Balibo Five
The Balibo Five was a group of journalists for Australian televsision networks based in Balibo in East Timor where they were killed on the 16th October 1975, during Indonesian incursions before the invasion.
In 2007, an Australian coroner discovered that they had been deliberately killed by Indonesian special force soldiers. The Indonesian version is that the men were killed by cross-fire during the battle for the town. -

Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão was a former militant who was the first President of East Timor, serving from May 2002 to May 2007.
He later became the fourth Prime Minister of East Timor, on 8 August 2007.
