De Soto of Spain, welcomes himself into the land of the Cherokee and is supposedly the first white man the Cherokee have seen, however the Cherokee were reported to have a wide variety of colors some "negro" and some "fair" skinned. -

Hernando de Sot dies of fever on the 21st day of May 1542. It was decided to bury his body on thebanks of the Mississippi River because of his love for that river and the things it helped him with. -

De Soto starts to make contact with native villages and clans. And with each contact comes lots of violence and brutality from De soto, especially when it comes to the Cherokee clan of the southeastern United Sates. -
