This circus began as a merger between Ringling Brothers Circus and Barnum & Bailey Circus. For a long time it was considered the most famous circus in the United States.The Washington Post called it "one of the best zoological exhibits ever seen." -

A small troupe of artists called Los Zancudos de Baie-Saint-Paul took to the streets of this town near Quebec and little by little they won over the public in the area by doing fantastic juggling exercises and street dances, throwing fire or playing happy music that cheered locals and visitors alike, dubbing themselves Cirque du Soleil for the first time, since, in their own words, “The sun symbolizes youth, energy and strength.” Now they are recognized worldwide. -
