First German Attack
Germany first attacked Verdun on Feburary 21st 1916 with a million troops led by Prince Wilhelm. The Germans million soldiers were only up against approximately 200,000 French Defenders. The next day the French were pushed back to their second line of trenches as the Germans continued to push them back. -

Third Trench Line
A few days later the French were pushed back to their third line of trenches while the French was being pushed back a new commander, Henri-Philippe was appointed as the commander of Verdun.He ordered every French soldier avaible to go defned Verdun and he got 259 regiments out of the armies 330 in total. -
New Attack
On the 6th of March the Germans launched a new attack on Verdun after they were defeated in Februrary by the French. Germany was able to advance 3 kilometers before they were stopped in front of Mort Homme Hill. -
Germany secures Mort Homme hill
By the 29th the French had finally had lost their strategic point adn were forced to move back to Fort Vaux. -
Fort Veux falls
On the 7th of June the French had also lost their strategic point at Veux. -
French Take Back Land
The French went to the offensive and started taking back the land they lost to the Germans. They first retook Douamont. -
Fort Vaux Retaken
The French were finally able to take back Fort Vaux. -
End of the War
In the end no one really won anything. The French had over 500,000 casualties while Germany only had a little over 400,000 making the Germans the winners .
