French and Indian War
This was problems with property near the Ohio River. It was between the British and the French. The Indians were also alies. -

This was the treaty that ended the French and Indian War. This also stated that nobody could move past the Appalachian Mountains. -

This was a law passed by the British Parliament. It stated that everything that had to do with sugar or foreign molasses was taxed. -
Townshend Act
This was a law passed my British Parliament that put taxes on lead, paper, and also paint. It also allowed the British Soldiers search your house or any of you belongings whenever they wanted. -
Boston Massacre
In Boston, Massachusetts British soldiers opened fire on a group of American Colonists. The colonist were taunting them because they were upset because of the taxing that was going on at this time. -
Boston Tea Party
A group of colonists, lead by John Adams, dressed as Indians and dumped 342 chests into the Boston Harbor. They did this because they were frustrated with all of the tea taxes. -
Tea Act
This was a law passed by British Parliament. It stated that all foreign tea was taxed. -
Intolerable Acts
This law was passed by Parliament to punish the people that took part in the Boston Tea Party. This shut down all imports and exports to the colonies. -
The First Continental Congress
12 men of the 13 colonies met in Philadelphia. They met here to talk about their independence and eventually write the Declaration of Independence. -
Lexington and Concord
This was the first engagement of the Revolutionary War between the British and the Americans. The British won this battle. -
The Second Continental Congress
This meeting was also between the 13 colonies. This established the Continental Army and made George Washington general. -
Bunker Hill
Having heard the British were sending troops to surround their city 1000 militiamen were sent to fight against them. The Americans soon ran out of gunpowder and the British won. -
Common Sense
This document was written by Thomas Paine. This was a big part leading up the the American Revolution. It stated that the colonies should become independent. -
Declaration of Independence
John Adams wrote the declaration saying that the colonists wanted to break away from Great Britain and be independent states. Many important men met and signed this declaration. -
Washington Crosses the Delaware
George Washington desperately needed a win for the colonies in the war. If they didn't get a victory soon they would defiantly lose the war. Washington made a decision to cross the icy Delaware River and surprise the British in the town of Trenton. -
The Battle of Trenton
This was when the colonist needed a win to even have a shot at winning this war. George Washington lead a group of men across the icy Delaware River to surprise British soldiers in the town of Trenton. The colonists won this battle. -
The Battle of Saratoga
This battle was the turning point of the American Revolutionary War. This was a close combat battle in the town of Stealwater, New York. -
Valley Forge
George Washington lead a group of men on a mission to fight the British. While doing this it was during a huge winter. Even while men were sick and dying of disease, Washington stayed with his men and won. -
Siege of Yorktown
This is when the British surrendered to the colonies. This ended the American Revolutionary War giving the colonies the victory. -
Treaty of Paris
This was signed by the British saying that they were ending the war. This also recognized the colonies as independent.
