    Alessandro Pictoracte immigrates to America from Venice. A page from his journal: I have heard that many Italians are not welcome here in America. I must say, it has been rather tough to get through the many tests they laid before me, but, perhaps due to the fact that living on the streets increased my stubbornness, I managed every test and am now on the ferry.
