Thomas Edison wanted to make a better lightbulb. He and his team discovered that a carbonized bamboo filament could last over 1200 hours. Later, they started marketing it. -
The Geissler tube
Two Germans discovered that they could make light by removing the air from a glass tube and passing an electric current through it. They became the basis of fluorescent lights. -
LED lights
Nick Holonyak Jr invented the first visible-spectrum LED in the form of red diodes. Then other colours of diodes were invented.
