A timeline I had to make for science class about lightbulbs

  • The electric arc lamp

    The electric arc lamp
Humphrey Davy created the first electric arc lamp. It was too bright and didn't produce light for a long enough time.
  • Thomas Edison's lightbulb

Thomas Edison wanted to make a better lightbulb. He and his team discovered that a carbonized bamboo filament could last over 1200 hours. Later, they started marketing it.
  • The Geissler tube

    The Geissler tube
Two Germans discovered that they could make light by removing the air from a glass tube and passing an electric current through it. They became the basis of fluorescent lights.
  • LED lights

    LED lights
Nick Holonyak Jr invented the first visible-spectrum LED in the form of red diodes. Then other colours of diodes were invented.
