George Washington was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia on February 22, 1732. He was the son of Augustine and Mary Washington.

After serving two consercutive terms as president, George Washington decided not to run for a third term in 1797. John Adams took his place to be the second president.

Death

After horseback riding in the cold, Washington developed a throat infection. He died on December 14, 1799. He was burried by his home in Mount Vernon, Virginia.
