In 1979 the Soviets invaded Afganistan. Afghan landlords commanded armed men as warlords to preserve the islamic traditions and the uslim cilture. Afghanistan proved to be a crisis to the Soviets. -

The Soviet Union officially fell in 1991. After it fel there came 12 independednt nations. Russia got the largest amount of land.The Soviet Union lasted 69 years before it fell. Maps of Europe and Asia had to be redrawn to accomidate the new nations.
