King Henry proclaims himself the leader of the Church of England.
With the Act of Supremecy, Henry VIII made himself the head of the Church of England, giving the King even more power. He also went on to publish other acts to insure that people would respect his position. Appointment of James I
As King, James I saw himself as having unlimited power and didn't mind telling everybody that was how he felt. Being absolutely rediculous cause much doubt in the English royalty/rule in the minds of the population of England. He failed as a ruler and showed how bad absolutism was. Wiki Image Source -
Conflict between Charles I and Parliament
In 1628 Charles I and Parliament had a dissagreement about the powers that each party held. To straighten out this dissagreement, the Petition of Right was ratified and gave the Parliament more power and less power to the King. Wiki Image Source -
Breakout into Civil War

Gentry pushes for influence.
The Gentry, made of 20,000 regular British people, spoke for the population of Britain during decision making. They spoke for many of the ideas in which the Limited Monarchy based upon. Charles I Executed.
King Charles I was the absolutist king of England and wanted to keep it that way. After he was removed from power, Parliament tried to negotiate terms, but he plotted to return as an absolutist ruler.
