This was an important event due to the fact that he was reelected for a third term in presidency; this was the only time in history taht a president has served more than two terms in his presidency. This was also important because of the strategies that FDR used in World War 2. -

The Japanese forces flew in with their planes and bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This event was the most important because it caused the US to get involved in World War 2 and begin fighting against the Axis powers -
Battle of Midway # 8
The American Naval Force was able to defeat the Japanese Navy so that it took away one of their fighting forces and helped us get one step closer to beating them. -
D Day #3
When American troops landed on the beaches of Normandy and took over the Nazi camps. -
Battle of the Bulge #10
This was fought between Germany and the US and it was a battle for the Germans to drive off the Americans from mainland Europe. The Americans' line was broken through but even so most of the American soldiers were able to hold them back. -
Battle of Iwo Jima # 9
The US Marines landed on the beaches of Iwo Jima and within a short amount of time they controlled the island so that they had a forward operating base to be able to strike the Japanese from. -
First Liberation of the Concentration camps #5
The importance to this event was that the American soldiers had found that the Jews and other prisoners were there and then they began to liberate other camps as well. -
#6 US President Franklin Roosevelt dies.
US President Franklin Roosevelt dies. He is succeeded by President Harry Truman. -
Hitler Committing Suicide #7
Adolf Hitler committed suicide due to the imposing forces of the Americans and the Russians and this gave teh upper hand to the Americans so that the Germans didn't have a leader and they were able to conquer them. -
Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki #2
This event ended the war on the Japanese side.
