Louis XVI calls the Estates Generals to a meeting to have them help with his taxes. This caused the three estates to clash and start the French Revolution. -

Tennis Court oath
When the third estate is kicked out of the Estates Generals meeting they go to the tennis court and have their own meeting where they make up the Tennis Court oath, that states that they won't leave till there is a new constitution. -
The Storming of the Bastille
What ocured on this day was the third estate broke in and killed all the guards of the building to get to the gun powder so they could rebel on the nobles. -
The Great Fear
During the Great Fear peasents from the countryside heard that nobles were paying people to terrorize them. This caused peasents to break into nobles homes and kill them and ruin the cite. Then there was a rise in bread cost so they kicked Louis and Maire out of Versailles. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
The Declaration of the Rights of Man was a document that stated that all Men were free. They were also born free. Women did not have the same rights. -
Women's March to Versailles
March to Versaille was when thousands of women from Paris marched to Versailles because of the rise in bread. When Louis didn't give them it they broke in and ran around trying to find Marie to kill her. -
Louis and Marie’s flight to Varennes
This event was when Louis and Marie tried to escape but were caught at the border by the guard and were then arrested which led to Louis' death for treason. -
Constitution of 1791
This was Frances 2nd constitution. This is when they abolish the Monarchy and they make Louis sign the constitution stating he has no power. -
Brunswick Manifesto
Issued by Ferdinand and Brunswick. It stated that if the French Royal Family were to ever be harmed the civilians would also be harmed. -
National Convention
This abolished the monarchy and declared France a republic where every male citizen could vote, no women though. -
The Terror
The killing of Louis started the Teror. Robespierre took over and ruled for a year and killed over 40,000 people. -

A government where a two house legislature and an executive body of five men ran the country. -
Napoleon Bonaparte takes over
Whn Napoleon took over he defeated Austrian and Sardinian forces. He was a very good leader but was eventually defeated by Lord Horatio Nelson. -

It was issued my Napolean. The code gave the privileges based on birth, allowed freedom of religion, and specified that government jobs go to the most qualified -
Concordat of 1801
This was an argument between Napolean and Pope Pius VII. it stated that the Roman Catholic Church would be the majority church of France. -
Luoisiana Purchase
France purchased a new piece of Land and called it Louisiana. The U.S. paid France around 15 million dollars to own the land. -
