Genghis khan dies and his successor was Ogedei Khan.

Ogedei khan dies and the mongol empire dosen't see another great khan till kublai Khan rises to power

First of Kublai Khan

Mar 8, 1251

Kublai's brother Mongke Khan sent Kublai on a campain against the sung in south China and doesn't return for five years

Kublai received a message from his wife that his younger brother Ariq Böke had been raising troops, and returned north to the Mongolian plains. Before Kublai reaches home he learns that Ariq Boke had announced himself great khan

Kubilai khan invades japan with 900 ships but most get washed away from a typhoon and the rest of the army couldn't manage to defeat the japanese samurai and withdrawed from japan

Second Mongol invasion of japan

Kublai Khan assembles another army to fight japan but this time splits his forces but one half wich had the most 100,000 troops got destroyed in a storm and the other half which only had 40,000 troops were affected by cold weather and only after a few skirmishes with the japanese the army withdrew again and didn't return

Feb 18, 1294

aged 78, kublai khan dies and his succesors weren't capable of running the empire efficently and fell into conflicted and most of the empire was taken by warlords and tribes.
