Birth of LeBron James
LeBron Raymone James was born December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio to a 16-year-old mother, Gloria. His biological father, Anthony McClelland, was an ex-convict who left Gloria. Gloria then had to raise LeBron by herself. -
High school
James attended St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, where he became a starter during his freshman year for the Fighting Irish. -
2003 NBA draft
After LeBron graduated high school in 2003, he was placed in the NBA draft and was immediately snatched up by the Cleveland Cavaliers. -
First season
James averaged 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game for the season and was named 03–04 NBA Rookie of the Year, becoming the first Cavalier and youngest NBA player to ever receive the award. -
