Aethelred ordered England to build a massive fleet of ships. The people of England had to supply armour for the crew as well. It was a huge Undertaking but was completed the following year. -

Battle of Clontarf
The battle of Clontarf was one of the last battles involving vikings. The The vikings fought over both, the Irish over-king Brian Boru's army and the for the viking led army opposing him. The battle was very violent and many men were slaughtered and killed. Men lost their lives and armies were being slaughtered by the opposing side. -

Salbard
Viking had discovered Svalbard in the 12th century. The vikings came upon a land named Svalbard and founded it. The vikings had been looking for new land to set up strong military points and colinize, when they came upon Svalbard on August 14 1213. -

Battle of Malden
The raiding Vikings attacked the Ipswich part of England before sailing into the Black water River estuary near Malden. The English were waiting for them and trapped them when they came. The English fought fiercely, but in the end, the Vikings were victorious and the English were eventually defeated -
Battle of Wachet
Viking raiders attacked and burnt the village at Wachet. Streonwold, an English leader, called for help from the surrounding population and a battle was fought. It was a very bloody battle and many lives were taken, but in the end, the Vikings were victorious and Streonwold was killed. -
Vikings get Paid to Leave
Aethelred was advised by Archbishop to talk to Olaf and arrange a truce instead of trying to defeat the vikings in battle. The vikings accepted a very large pay off and then left and never bothered them again. -
Beggining of Viking Age
On sep. 16, there was an attack on the Lindisfarne Monastery off the coast of Northuberland In North-Eastern England marked the beggining of the Viking Age. The culprits, who most scientists believe were Norwegians sailed directly across the Noeth Sea, but didn't destroy the Monastery completely but the attack made a gigantic effect on the European World. -

By the 11th century,Dublin became so crowded that houses were being built outside the town walls. -
