Tiger Brand Shoes
Knight recieves the first shipment of Tiger shoes, 200 in all. -
The Beginning
Blue Ribbon Sports is founded. -
They Join
Knight and Bowerman joing together in their new enterprise. They each contribute $500 to start their partnership. -

Jeff Johnson becomes the first full-time employee of Blue Ribbon Sports. -

Phil Knight runs into an art student, Carolyn Davidson, who rcreates the new logo, the Swoosh. -
The Brand
The company Blue Ribbon Sports is now given the new name of Nike. -
Olympics
They new offer Nike to the athlets at the Olympic trails in Eugene, Oregon. -
Steve Prefontaine
Steve Prefontaine, a runner at the University of Oregon, never loses one of his races and new begins to wear the brand. -
Waffle Trainer
The waffle Trainer is introduced with Bowerman's waffle outsole. -

Steve Prefontaine dies when his car hits a rock and flips on the way home from a party right near the Universoty of Oregon. -

Nike creats a club for elite track and field athletes called Athletic West. -
Frank Rudy (NASA)
Nike and Frank Rudy, a NASA employee, engineer the first Air-Sole units. -
Tailwind
Nike introduced the Tailwind, the first shoe with the Air-Sole cushioning technology in the feel of the shoe. -
Stock Market
NIke is now introduced to the NYSE stock market. -

Alberto Salazar creates a new world record while wearing a pair of Nikes while running the New York City Marathon. -

Michael Jordan a rookie basketball player for the Chicago Bulls endorses a new Nike line of Air Jordans, basketball shoes, and an apparel line. -
Apparel Line
Nike begins a new apperal line that starts with John McEnroe for a tennis line and then Michael Jordan for basketball. -
Air Max + Cross Trainer
They first Nike Air Max shoe was introduced. This was the first shoe where you could actually see the Air-Sole cushioning. The Nike Cross Trainer was introduced as well which was a shoe that was good for the court sports and aerobics. -

The Just Do It adverstisement, it was a call of action, a refusal of excuses, a reason to be courages and exceptional. -
Nike Town Store
The first Nike Town store opens in Portland, Orgeon. -
The Nike World Campus
The Nike World Campus opens up in Beaverton, Oregon and is on 74 acres of land. The Campus include seven buildings which are all named after a special athlete. -
Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan leads the Chicago Bulls to win their frist NBA championship. -
Nike Grind
Reuse- a-shoe is something that you will see in the front of every Nike store. It allows anyone to put their old shoes into this box when later on they will be shipped out, broken down, and resuded to create courts, tracks and fields. -
Nike Town
Nike Town is opened up in New York City. It is 85,000 sq. ft. of retail and heritage. -

Bauer Nike Hokcey is officaly formed. The Canstar brand is now put under the Bauer brand name. -
