• Birth

    Chris Kyle was born in Odessa, Texas. His father was a church deacon ("Chris Kyle"). His childhood was shapped by the outdoors. He always loved guns and grew up hunting with his brother and father. Chis lived on a ranch (Mooney).
  • Graduates High School

    Chirs attended high school in Midlothian, Texas. He played football and eventually got into bronco busting. After graduating, he would attend Tarleton State University for 2 years to study agriculture. His life long interest would remain to be the military.
  • Joins the Navy

    After joining, Chris easily blew through the Navy's basic training, He then went to BUD/S (SEAL training) and passed that as well. BUD/S is brutal training but he never wanted to stop; Nothing would keep him from his dream. He would become a part of SEAL Team 3.
  • First Deployment

    He was deployed to the al-Faw Peninsula of Iraq. This was during the initial invasion period of the war. He and SEAL Team 3 would join with the Marines and march towards Baghdad. Throughout his deployments he would earn the nickname "The Devil of Ramadi" from the insurgents for being so lethal.

  • Longest Kill

    While stationed on a roof in Sadr City, he saw a figure in the next village over a mile away. The man dissaperaed and latter reapperad with a RPG. He estimated his calculations and fired, the figure fell 2,100 yards away.
  • Honorable Discharge from Service

    After 4 deployments, Chris was honorably discharged from the Navy. During his decade of service he survived 2 gunshot wounds and six IED strikes. Chris earned five Bronze Stars two Silver Stars. He had 160 confirmed kills accumulated throughout his deployments and became the most lethal sniper in U.S. history.   • Death

    On this tragic day Chris and his friend Chad Littlefield would be murdered by Eddie Ray Routh, a former Marine suffering from PTSD. Rouths mother begged Chris to help her son and he accepted. They brought him to a shooting range and the derranged Routh took a weapon and killed both Chris and Littlefield. Chris was an American hero that deserves to be remembered ("American Sniper").
